I can still remember the softness in their hands. You could see the wear that time had given from a lifetime of working. But so wonderful, to think of how many tears these hands have wiped away, how many times they waved hello, and goodbye. How many times they cradled your cheeks for a kiss on the forehead, How many little ones they held. They had such a look of love, I can remember how soft, a softness that you cannot describe, you can only remember. Even though they had a slight shake to them that the years had brought, there was no safer, gentle place. To hold them was probably the closest thing on earth to holding the hand of an angel. I sure do miss them, and love the ones that are still here to hold. I am so thankful that I have been blessed with so many loving hands in my life.
