Sunrises and Sunsets

I love a good sunrise, and a good sunset. I see more sunsets, just because I am not a morning person. However, when I am up and get the opportunity to watch God paint the sky with awakening beauty, I am in awe. The darkened night time sky starts to revive as the soft glow radiates in amazing colors that are uncapturable by camera. The sun starts to awaken and just starts to peak above a wave filled ocean, or trees outlined in the horizon. Bright orange, and yellow beams extend from the horizon reaching with unexplainable beauty into heaven. Passing clouds are highlighted with a precision only by the hand of God. The dew filled, crisp nighttime air is cut by an artistry of warming hue filled rays warming your face while staring in wonderment into the now illuminated sky. A brand new day. Yesterday may have brought storms, making it hard to see the sunrise, but it did rise, and it does the same everyday, just like God’s Love and Mercy, they are new every morning.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22-23

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”

Hebrews 13:8

“Without dark clouds in our lives we would never know the joy of sunshine.

Billy Graham

And sunsets, It’s like an amazing celebration of thankfulness for being blessed with living another day. Some of the same radiating colors lighting up the sky before fading into darkness as the sun starts to sink into the horizon of a hillside, a forest of trees, or a drying fall cornfield. Highlighting everything in God touched beauty, as it says goodnight to a soon to be moonlit sky.

The skies hold such amazement, and send my mind into thankfulness, wonder, and thoughts of God’s promises. The sun provides so much awe filled beauty here on earth, but in heaven there will be no sun, something that I think is so amazing here, will not be needed, but yet there will be no darkness. God will be our light, and I cannot even begin to fathom that view! His light will never sink below a horizon, and it will never be hidden behind storm clouds, it will last forever! What amazing views his light will let us see, unimaginable beauty……Forever.

Tim Gallaher

“And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp, or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”

revelation 22:5

“I believe in God like I believe in the sun. Not because I can see it, but by it, I can see everything else.”
